chit chats

it was the coldest day in NY,
there was no heat nor hot water,
I had a flu on top of that...
damn, I still kicked a**!

This morning I woke up happy, eventhough my body didn't let me go on the normal speed.
Although a warm email crossing the Atlantic Ocean did wonder.
Could I proof my theory yesterday about the winter vacation blue syndrome? We'll see.

Well.. it was sunny but super cold out.
I didn't want to risk to get sicker, so I grabbed a cab.
JC! What a mad man.
I'd taken cab plenty of times, but this was the first time, my breakfast was emerging from wherever it was!
Mam, do you mind if I drop you off at Mott and Prince?
Ssssure.. while I could still reply, yeah dropped me.

When I got to the spot, I saw 2 of my friends there.
They were still in their winter coats.
I took off mine.
Oh no, put your coat back on, young lady!
The AC was on the whole week and the heater didn't seem to work.
I obeyed. A bit chilly, but should be fine.
Adjusted our positions once in awhile to have an even exposure of heat.

I used to bathroom a little after 3.
It was an amazon!
No heat and this time no hot water? You gotta be kidding!
I got out shiverring again.
I put my coat back on and the scarf and the gloves, stood in between 2 space heaters but couldn't get over it.
My friend called it quit, Thank God!

The owner came to lock and walked with me to Barneys as he was heading in the same direction.
Had a little chat with him on the way.
This and that.
Do you think she is still holding a grudge against me? he asked about an old friend who used to work for him.
Do you really want to know? I paused.. Well.. a little...
He didn't remember correctly what happened.
She'd never told me exactly what it was either and I'd never ask.
It was between him and her.
There was no regret.
Just a little hope that they could still be good friends...
Talked a bit more of this and that.
He thanked me, apologized for the cold day, gave a big hug and walked away~

It was only 7 blocks away and I felt like I just had a botox injection!
Just picked up a pair of pants they altered for me and took another cab home.
I know, I am not making much and the C E are 5 blocks away, but please have mercy, let me live another day...
This time the driver was from Romania.
I got to learn a bit about his home country.
He was a little offended when I asked if it were a Russian speaking country.
No, the name came from Italy, and the language was close to Latin.
Pardon me!
Romania, a beautiful country over 2000 yrs old, surrounded by Slavic countries.
Went through Roman and Ottoman Empire and Russian occupation.
Darn! Eastern Europe was calling!

It was warm at home.
I had another bowl of chicken soup.
And I would dip into the bath once again~

No proof for now, it was an unordinary circumstance.
Although, I was still alive and entertaining you.

i heard on the news that flu could kill.. really?
yeah, if your temperature is too high, your blood vessels will burst.
oh, burst? exploded? hmmm.. interesting~

es scheint wie du hast gestanden einem trockenen seemann...
ein was für leben!
