d.a.e.k.t...
aucune idée pour le titre...
There seemed to be a new ritual, where we all sat down for lunch and shared stories...
It was wonderful.
Right when I got home, Uncle Deepak called.
Oh, he is in town?
Sphinxku, what are you up to? I'm at Ruby Foo's wanna come and join me?
Back on a train to Times Square.
It was a pretty nice space.
Uncle Deepak seemed to like it, since he stopped by pretty much at every trip he had in New York.
They had sat down when I arrived.
His crew just arrived from HK today.
I met Kenneth before, not Unis and Emma, and another friend Lori.
The dinner was good.
I sat quietly most of the time, listening to the conversation -- I usually didn't talk much when I met people for the first time.
I mentioned about The Gates to Uncle Deepak and asked if Lori had gone to see it since she lived here in the city.
Yeah, I went jogging under it the other day and I didn't see the point of it. What a waste of money.
You think so?
Yes, why couldn't they just donate the money for charity?
Well.. the money that came from selling merchandise would go to Nurture New York’s Nature and the Arts who were sharing the proceeds with The Central Park Conservancy.
And the talk went on for a few minutes. I threw in the facts.
I thought it was a good way to promote New York to the world and Central Park itself.
What's so special about the park anyway?
Oh!! What's so special?? Alright, no point of arguing then..
Clearly she wasn't a New Yorker and perhaps behind on her reading..
I felt a bit awkward afterward.. and disappointed to hear somebody who lived in New York but didn't love the park...
Had another scoop of Pad Thai...
Got home and chatted with Adi for a little bit.
It seemed like we need to re-synch.
I talked to him electronically everyday, on the phone once a week, and occasional letters.
But it'd been over 5 years, we started splitting up.
No big argument, but we definitely need to sit down, vis à vis, and read each others' eye.
A.S.A.P, that is!
On the side line:
Smurfette, meine kleine deutsche schwester, called me at the office.
Didn't sound too well.
Promised to catch her Wednesday at noon.
Edgar and his wife are expecting a little one. Congratulations!
I invited him over to the blog, got us talking about the final drawing I did last semester -- he liked this the best. We decided to call it Undone.
I told him it was actually unfinished or there was a missing element which nobody but myself and perhaps my buddy in Paris knew about it.
But there was no turning back to add it, so I was planning another drawing as the next series.
Once I got more time on my hand, I'd work the other half which would be Done.
A dyptich, it is!
And after 17 years.. It's snowing in Roquebrune. Enjoy, Kim!
お誕生日おめでとう、貴志!
