les bateaux, un oiseau, et les feux d'artifice

Another beautiful day.
Met up with a friend for another round at West Side Highway.
We did the same route, but only up to the piers since my friend was on the blades instead of a bike.
I rode ahead from time to time and took pictures.
It was still early in the morning.
The city was still and I felt the chill in the air.. fresh air~

boats

Stopped by the Piers to check out the boats.. day dreaming~
Made it back to Battery Park City for a break.
Brought a blanket which we spread under a tree and laid on.

midday break

I wasn't used to sleeping en plein air.
Skipped around and took more pictures instead.
There were birds chirping and hopping in bushes.
Some just sat quietly enjoying the day.

We walked home an hour later.
Tribeca had amazing turn of the century buildings.
I found an old overpass connecting 2 buildings by Jay St.
Across the street, NY Mercantile Exchange was erected on 1872. pheuw~

Got home in mid afternoon.
The temperature had raised to 85゚F.
I was planning to take a nap before the fireworks tonite.
Unfortunately, Novita didn't let me.
She had a little drama session going on.
Not pretty at all.

Had a rendez-vous at Bryant Park.
The Summer Film Festival was on.
They were showing "White Heat," didn't stay for long.
Had to run to East River for Macy's 4th of July fireworks.

We didn't get to go all the way to the front row, but it was good enough.
The fireworks was delayed half hour from the schedule.
It started at 9:30pm.
The fireworks were amazing!
I saw them from the roof every year, but up close they were more thrilling!
