bonne vivre
Had a huge healthy breakfast this morning.
A bowl of rice with 明太子, an apple, and half a pound of strawberry.
Skipped to Gerald's for a haircut afterwards.
Gerald was sweet as usual.
He cut at least half of the hair that I had, I trusted his instinct.
It'd take sometime to get used to.
I was sure within a week I'd be psyche!
A quarter to 5pm, caught a cab to Shoe Service.
I got there 2 mins before, but wasn't early enough. Darn!
To keep in mind: if it's only 15 mins before a store closes, forget about taking a cab!
Walked on 5th to the subway station.
Stopped by at MoMA store quickly to see if there was anything for Tomo.
He turned 32 yesterday and he was coming to the city for dinner.
I got him a Design House "pleece" -- pleated fleece -- scarf.
They felt like cashmere!
Then the usual Saturday routine, visited Susannah at Franklin.
The store was packed.
She told me her b-day plan.
Oh? I thought it'd be planned by us, not you?
It didn't matter.
Afterall, I didn't know her friends out of Steven Alan circle.
Tomo and Keiko called every 5 mins.
They wanted dinner at Landmarc.
Great! I was craving a steak!
Ran over to Landmarc to make a reservation, unfortunately it was full until way later.
But if we walked in, we may wait an hour and got a table.
So, Keiko and 3 of her guests from Japan walked in.
I told her to wait at the bar since the table might be available earlier, but she went to the sports bar across the street instead.
I was right, the table was ready in 15 mins.
Called them frantically since I was famished!
It was difficult to order.
Let's leave this in general term, not my habit to talk about somebody I don't know.
I let the guy chose the wine.
He didn't pay attention to the price and we ended up with $170 bottle of Bordeaux.
I glimpsed on it when he ordered, but it wasn't my place to say about how much he ought to spend on wine. He might be a high roller, who knew?
We had a good meal anyway.. at least Tomo, Keiko, and I were satisfied with ours.
I ordered 3 little dessert for myself to close, a crème brûlée, a nutella eclair, and a tiramisu. They were shoot glass size, so I indulged.
vergessen sie nicht einen katzenbeutel des venison...
