the gates project
Picked up my boots at Shoe Service today.
I had to wait a little for them to locate my shoes -- I had cold sweat! No, couldn't be!
They did a very fine job.
My boots looked brand new.
Went uptown to visit my buddies.
Walked to Columbus Circle and saw the installation of The Gates Project.
just imagine yourself walking through these... aaaahh~
It was a $20 million public art project funded solely by the artist of 23 miles of 7,500 gates intalled on the walking path of Central Park with saffron colored fabric waving to create an illusion of a golden river appearing and disappearing through the bare branches of the trees and would highlight the shape of the footpaths.
Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!
It would be ready on Saturday.
I couldn't wait~
A block before the destination, I had to stop by EJ's Luncheonette.
I was starving!!!
The waitress suggested Canadian Mountie Burger.
Pretty good, but I could hear somebody whispering my by-pass procedure from all those grease.
I ate only half and wrapped the other half.
I arrived on Amsterdam and stood at its window.
The girl didn't recognize me.
I didn't see Mark, but there he was coming from the back room.
He ran out and gave me a hug.
Aaah.. he was such a sweetie~
He said I looked like an 80s rockstar.
Well.. I know this is cheesy but I want to look like David Lee Roth circa California Girls!
sketch is a property of Christo and Jean-Claude.
